ANIMAL FRIENDLY POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE

Former State Senator Raymond Lesniak who championed animal friendly legislation like the ban on ivory transactions to save elephants from extinction, the ban on trophies of endangered species and Nosey’s Law which bans wild animals from performing in circuses, has formed an ANIMAL FRIENDLY PAC to support candidates at all levels of government who are friendly to legislation protecting animals from cruelty and extinction.

“Too often legislation to protect animals from cruelty is not considered important to gain the support of our elected officials,” said Lesniak, “The ANIMAL FRIENDLY PAC will not only contribute to animal friendly candidates for public office, but will also issue and distribute report cards on candidates positions on legislation like banning gestation crates, using animals for testing of cosmetic products, killing contests, and bear hunts, and creating animal advocates in animal cruelty criminal prosecutions and trap, neuter and return programs to protect community cats from starvation and death.

Pope Francis said, “Every act of cruelty towards any creature is contrary to human dignity.” Mahatma Gandhi said, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
“Animals need a voice in the State Legislature and in County and Municipal Government. The ANIMAL FRIENDLY PAC will be their voice,” said Lesniak.
